What forms of payments do you take?

We accept cash, local or cashier's checks, money orders, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) for all repairs and services, major and minor.

We accept local checks with a few caveats:

  • Checks must be from Fredericksburg, Harper, or Stonewall.
  • Checks from long-standing customers are accepted.
  • Checks from new customers will not exceed $500.
  • Temporary, two-party, or pre-signed checks will not be accepted.
  • Checks must have name & address imprinted on them.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License is required on checks to be accepted.
  • No personal or business checks will be accepted for more than $1,000 without prior approval of the owner.
What kind of warranty do you provide?

We perform quality service and provide quality parts, most of which have a 12-month/12,000 mile manufacturer's warranty. We stand behind our work and want to assure you that your peace-of-mind is our top priority. After your vehicle has left our repair facility, we want you to be happy with your repairs. If you have questions regarding our warranty, please let us know.

How long have you been in business?

Chassis by Zach has been proudly serving Fredericksburg, Texas and the Texas Hill Country since 1993.

What does ASE Certification mean for me?

ASE is short for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. ASE certified technicians and recognized repair facilities have gone through extensive training in order to become the best technicians and auto repair shops around. An ASE certificate means that you can rest assured that your technicians have the knowledge to repair your vehicle the right way, the first time.

Do you install parts that I provide?

We do not install customer supplied parts for various reasons. The main reason is that we would be unable to provide a warranty for either the part itself or the labor to replace it. Another reason for furnishing the part ourselves is that we can be certain that the part is the correct one for your application.

Do you give free diagnoses?

No, we do not. Proper diagnoses take time and expertise. They require skilled technicians to identify problems, determine the appropriate solutions required to repair them, and write up detailed plans of action with accurate labor and parts so that you have the information you need to make the best decision about your vehicle repair. We simply would not be able to provide this level of service to you without charging for the time to do it properly.

Can you give me an estimate over the phone?

No, we cannot do that. We need to have your vehicle here so that our technicians can diagnose your vehicle in person. They need to be able to see, hear, feel, and sometimes even smell what's going on with your vehicle in order to properly diagnose its issues — and that's not something that can be done over the phone. Additionally, there are many variables that go into estimating that requires the vehicle to be present to confirm part needs.

I just need an oil change, can you help?

Yes, we can! We want to help you keep your vehicle in tip-top shape and regular oil services are a big part of doing just that. With every repair and service that we perform, we inspect your vehicle with a thorough checklist to identify common failures, advise of upcoming repairs, ensure your vehicle is roadworthy, and catch small issues before they become big issues.

Chances are, the answer is yes! While there will always be an exception to the rule, we are well-versed in working on many makes and models from across the globe and have the know-how and equipment to repair and service them. We can help you with your:
